Time for girl stuff!

I was thinking about the girl stuff I’m going to need to get, and it occurred to me to just ask you all.  What is the one thing (or two things) you cannot do without as a mom of a girl?  What are my must-haves?

Reflections

I came aross this on my sister’s blog.  This is an amazing slideshow and is a beautiful experience. Please take the time to do this… you will reflect and I hope that you, like I did, will feel of the Spirit that testifies of truth.  I love my sister’s thoughts, and I hope it’s okay with you, Candy, that I’m sharing your feelings on this.

“…the image that I keep thinking of is the joyful and loving embrace.  I love that it portrays this moment in our religious history as one of overwhelming joy.  That these two men, knew what this momentous occasion meant for all of us. And although it was the beginning of a path that would travel through indescribable grief and pain, His supernal journey will ultimately lead us all back to our Father in Heaven.  I like to think that He was smiling for us. He loved His eternal family enough that He rejoiced when He come out of the waters of baptism and started us all on our way back to Him. I feel like we were all there, rejoicing right along with Him. Embracing each other and grinning.”

Fundraiser

I cannot believe I have a child old enough to have a school fundraiser.  But here we are!  You can go HERE and use the school code 1064930.  I think you’ll also have to enter Russell Legg as the student name.  Then you can browse through what they’ve got (holiday and non-holiday stuff).  The sale ends on Monday, October 20.

He doesn’t have to sell a certain amount of items or anything, so we don’t need anyone to buy anything.  Just in case you’re interested!

Mosquito Bite?

Tell me, have you ever seen a mosquito bite do this??

I don’t really think these pictures do it justice.  Keyan woke up yesterday morning with what looked like a big spider bite on his upper cheek.  It stayed pretty much the same throughout the day.  This morning he woke up with his entire upper cheek and eye red and swollen and very uncomfortable looking.  The doctor at Urgent Care assured us that it was only a mosquito bite and Benadryl would do the trick. (P.S. These pictures are after a full day of Benadryl.)  Luckily it didn’t seem to bother him at all.  Kind of funny though… I took the other two boys to church while Russell took Keyan to Urgent Care where he was asked more than once by nurse, doctor, etc.:  “Now, are you the dad?”  I don’t blame them, really.  Russell and Keyan look about as opposite as you can get.  Also kind of funny, our friends’ little girl came to church with a matching eye today.  What are the odds they both would get this kind of reaction from a mosquito bite on the same day?   Keyan was a sport through it all.

Here’s our sweet boys.

Camping and the Air Force Museum

**This post is kind of old and has been sitting in my draft folder.  So here ya go.**

The boys got to go camping and visit the Air Force Museum all in the same weekend.  We had our ward campout, and dad took Russell and Trey.  They had a blast and loved getting out all the gear.  The next day we drove to Dayton to visit an old friend.  He is in the Air Force and was running in the Air Force Marathon in Dayton.  After the race, we visited the Air Force Museum.  I know the image the word “museum” conjures, but let me tell you, it was SO cool and humongous.  There were so many planes there for the boys to look at, and they loved it, too.  I could have spent the entire day there reading all about the old war planes, etc.  I LOVE American history and this museum had plenty of that for me.  Plus I have a MAJOR patriotic streak in me.  Unfortunately, little boys don’t exactly enjoy standing around while mom reads all the signs and plaques.  So maybe I’ll be able to enjoy that another time.  Now Russell says he is going to be in the Air Force when he grows up, and Trey says he’s going to be the airplane when he grows up…
