Rainy days

Last week I attended our ward’s book club.  It was very fun and perhaps the best part was being able to be social!  The book was Princess Academy (I think I already said that in a previous post, oh well!) by Shannon Hale.  It was great and I recommend it!  This past Saturday I went to our stake enrichment.  Russell was so excited to have the morning to play with Russell and Trey.  He set out the old closet doors we just took down and some old paint and let the boys go at it.  I watched the video and looked at the pictures, and I can just say that it was a very good thing that the mess and the boys were all cleaned up when I got back!!   The link to the video is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dq03UJ9TuvU.  It’s very cute, and they had such fun.  Trey decided he wanted to know what paint tasted like and stuck a full paint brush in his mouth.  He kept his mouth wide open until Russell was able to clean it out!  Saturday afternoon we carved our jack-o-lanterns whle we watched the OSU game.  I made the pumpkin seeds and they turned out SO yummy, if anyone is interested in the recipe!

Sunday was little Russell’s first primary program in church.  He was so proud to be up there and kept giving us these huge grins.  It, of course, made me cry to see him singing the songs.  He did a great job and was very courageous!  Of course, he is usually not afraid to be in front of people…he gets that from his dad!  Trey might be a different story when the time comes, but we’ll see.

This week I am feeling particularly homesick for Utah.  I miss the mountains and the people and our family and our friends.  I miss BYU!  But I love it here, too.  I feel like I would be very ungrateful if I wasn’t happy to be here.  It took such prayers to get here!

Well, I added a few pictures.  Some of the painting experience, some of Sunday morning before the Primary program, and one of Keyan pooped out in the backpack while we were putting together the trampoline.  Our house is not pink, even though it looks like it in the pictures!

Love to you!

P.S. I think our church time is finally going to be switched from 3 pm soon.  YEA!

Oh. . . my . . .word. . . I was seriously hyperventilating over here while watching that painting video. And to think, I have issues when they mix the different colors of the markers together getting the tips all mixed together. I could never have survived that painting experience. Russell, you are amazing for letting them do that! Who had the hiccups during the painting? And I loved little Russell’s comment, “We’re monkeys!” Oh, and I gasped when Trey started walking hand out toward the neighbor’s house. I think I would have fainted if I would have come home in the middle of all of that. Those boys are so lucky to have such and adventurous dad. How did you clean all that up? I wouldn’t even know where to begin. Love you guys.

Jackie, it’s so fun to see your family and it seems so crazy that you have 3 boys!! What a handful that must be. I know you’re such a terrific mom and wife. I’m glad that we can still keep in touch too.
