A miracle…

Okay, that moment has come…well, actually, I can at least see the light at the end of the tunnel!  Saturday night Keyan stayed in his bed for ten whole hours!  He wasn’t sleeping the entire time but was able to put himself back to sleep the few times he did wake up !  I can’t believe it has happened.  Since that night, he has gone about 8 hours per night.  It really is a miracle.

Aside from that fantastic news, Russell was able to start preschool on Monday.  We found a little elementary school transformed into a preschool about two minutes from our house, thanks to one of my friends in the ward.  Russell’s class has 8 children including him.  It consists of 6 disabled children at various levels and 2 typical children who are used as model children.  There is one teacher and one assistant teacher, so the student to teacher ratio is great!  We are very happy with it and Russell is so excited to be able to attend!  When I dropped him off on his first day, he never looked back; he was SO into being there.  He was totally ready!  He started just in time because tomorrow they have a field trip.  He will get to ride the bus and is so excited!

Halloween was really fun.  Russell and Trey really got into the trick-or-treating, their first real trick-or-treating experience.  We went with another family in our ward and were in a great neighborhood.  Russell had class that night, so it was nice not to go alone!  Confession:  I LOVE candy corn and candy corn pumpkins…in my opinion the best part about Halloween.  I don’t even want to know how many I ate!  Let’s just say it’s a very good thing that you can only usually buy them around Halloween time!  Now it’s on to Thanksgiving.  Since I love cooking and collecting recipes, I have already planned our menu and am very excited to try them.  It’s a good thing I have three boys who love to eat (one of them being my husband)!

Hooray!!!!! I’m so excited for you to get sleep! I totally know how you feel b/c Max had such a hard time sleeping through the night, too. He is doing much better and now sleeps most nights. Now I need to work on getting Lukas (my 3 year old) out of my bed! It never ends with the trials! You look great and are such a cute mom! I miss you tons!

oh. . . my. . . word. It’s about time, and I can’t be more pleased and relieved for you. A mom can only go so much time sleep deprived. When you finally start to get the sleep that you were missing before, it’s nice to discover that you actually are a patient, kind, understanding, and fun person afterall! At least, that’s what I discovered. Love you Jacks and the boys.

Jackie, I’m lovin the new blog format. So glad you’re getting sleep. Russell’s pre-school sounds so awesome. Ever since I taught gymnastics to disabled kids, I totally encourage the abled/disabled ratio… kids learn so much from each other. Russells going to do great! Love ya, Dana
