A first for us…

So we have experienced our first parent/teacher conference.  It went better than I expected since I was afraid of the worst.  I actually do have a well-behaved child! 🙂  Just kidding.  We found out that he is very good at cutting and a diving front roll (they found out in gym).  The teacher gave us a couple of things to work on.  Luckily they were all academic things and not behavioral things.  He is doing great.

Poor little Trey had a hard time with Russell taking off for three hours a day at first.  The very first day Trey walked around with his backpack on all day at home because he was convinced he was going, too.  Then, regardless of what I told him, he still thought so when we were leaving to take Russell.  So he had to bring his backpack along.  Then as we were driving away afterwards, Trey said quietly, “Hey, what about me?”  It was SO sad!  But I think I have convinced him that it is actually okay and he can go next year.

I am having a hard time getting over my depression from the weekend.  Our #1 OSU football team lost, and I am so sad.  Russell laughs at me because I take it so seriously.  During the games I get so stressed that I feel sick!  (Stop laughing!)  The only consolation I can give myself is that my other team, the Cougars WON!  YEA!!  I can’t believe the season is almost over.  Then we will have to wait a whole year for another season!  At least it is something to look forward to!

Jackie – How awesome that Russell is getting to go to preschool. It has been the best thing for Jax. I totally relate to the patience thing with boys. Last week Gray dumped the humidifier in his room and played in the water for a while before telling me. The day before that he climbed to the top shelf of the fridge and pulled down the FULL container or lemonade and spilled it everywhere and the next morning dumped my ring cleaner container with my rings IN it and I couldn’t find one of them for a little bit (at 5 in the morning while Matt and I were still sleeping). Sometimes I wonder. .. We love and miss you guys!
