Five more days…

We’ve got a countdown going here, at least the boys do with their little paper chain that Russell made at school.  I have to say, though, that they have done so well with leaving the presents alone.  We’ve had them under the tree for a couple of weeks now, and NONE have been opened.  I’m suprised!

Well, this week I have been suffering with a stupid cold.  I always forget how yucky you can feel with just a little cold.  Russell has been home as he is off of school right now, so it has been so nice to have the help around here.  He has also been doing some home projects.  We FINALLY got the kitchen painted, and we love it!  I think anything would have been an improvement.  I’ll put a picture up later.  He also painted our downstairs bathroom and is putting in crown molding and casing around the new white doors.  Next will be baseboards and chair rail.

Monday night we went to a drive-thru Christmas lights display.  Provo had something like it, too.  It is so fun, the boys come sit up front with us (we’re driving so slow because there are other cars and we’re all looking at the lights) and we look at all the light displays…tons of Santas, 12 days of Christmas, gingerbread houses, reindeer, everything.  Halfway through the display, there was “Santa’s Village” in the gift shop, and the boys got to see and talk to Santa and have cookies and hot chocolate.  The whole thing took us about 45 minutes.  It was great!

Well, we finally broke down and bought a van.  I always said I would never drive a mini-van, but it isn’t so bad!  Plus we all fit comfortably now.  We found it on Craig’s List and got quite the deal!  We are selling the white corolla to a 17 year old in our ward.

Merry Christmas, everyone!

Hey Jack! I want to hear more about your new van! When I read the beginning of your blog I freaked out because I had not realized that there were only five more days until Christmas! I immediately started wrapping. Love you guys and we are thinking of you lots!

I love looking at the lights and being the cold with hot chocolate! HOW FUN! And I love the trains! Cute! You guys go all out with the lights. We sort of missed the nice weather this year, and will have to wait for next year. Congrats on the van. I’m thinking it wouldn’t be so bad. Maybe after child #3! merry Christmas! 🙂
