My thoughts are:

Today I was so blessed to recognize, appreciate, and enjoy a lot of little moments with my kids.  I don’t know why, but for me the days sometimes seem to run together, and I realized that I was missing things and not having FUN with my little guys.  SO I’ve been doing it.  HOW REWARDING!  So today as we were dancing to Sugar Pie, Honey Bun (I don’t know the actual song title) I had a thought about these three boys.  It doesn’t matter to them that I’m an atrocious dancer (and nobody else sees me dancing crazy in the kitchen but them), they’ve seen me looking my absolute worst, they’ve heard me say some awful things, they’ve heard and seen many other more than unpleasant things about me.  But the amazing thing is…they love me as much as they possibly can anyway.  Their love for me is unconditional.  The sad thing is, it won’t always be that way.  So now while they are young, I am determined that we will dance crazy in the kitchen and laugh together so that when they do choose whether or not they want to love me, they choose to.  Those are my thoughts.

Oh, I have one more.  For any of you out there who have ever seen the church movie “It’s a Miracle”, do you ever sing that song in your head?  Like when you can’t believe you just fit all those dishes in the dishwasher, or when your two year old says very cheerfully, “Okay, mama. Sorry!” and your jaw drops open, or any other moments like that.  Just wondering, because I do.

Jackie!!! I hope you got my message about not being able to get together while we were down in C-bus remember that day when the weather was CRAZY? Anyways, if you didn’t get it, i’m really sorry. But the good news is that we’re moving to Columbus in like TWO months! James got into Ohio State, so we’ll def. be getting together soon! YAY!

Oh jackie, I loved this blog. Quickly in answer to your question, yes! I sing that all the time. Hearing you say that reminded me that I used to sing it all the time on my mission. Funny thing though was that none of my companions had ever seen it, so they must have thought I was crazy.

I loved what you said about the here and now. I sometimes get so caught up in thinking, “what are you doing still standing there when I told you to go put your shoes away!” or many other thoughts like that, that I fail to see the little things that pretty soon will be just faded memories. Unconditional love is one of the most amazing blessings I’ve ever experienced. Hope it lasts forever and forever.

Jackie, I sing that song all the time especially when I am loading the dishwasher, but it mostly comes when I just happen to amazingly get everything done that I wanted to in one day!!! Miss ya

You continue to amaze me. Always positive, optimistic and absolutely the one to enjoy life. Your boys are lucky to have you. I’m going to try and let loose a little more today.
My boys have learned how to tell people they are sexy. You should hear them, it’s a riot!!

What a Heavenly thought that you all have zeroed in on this concept of “here and now” while your children are so young and while there is so much of life ahead. Dad asked me to help him undecorate the Christmas tree one Sunday evening. After I had packed away half a dozen ornaments of long ago, I just began crying and crying. Those times live only in memory…precious memory. I told him I would never complete that task again without some of my kids around…just too heart wrenching. So…how absolutely HAPPY that you have caught the vision so your memories can be sweet as sweet. Mine are too…can’t go back…so, except for undecorating the treee…I promise to celebrate the moment too!! Love, mom

    Hi Jackie – Its Ginger!!

One of my favorite memories with my boys was when I was going through a really rough time in my life, and wasn’t very happy. One day I just turned up the radio and me and the boys just danced – they were even dancing on the counters – I think I was also about 7 months pregnant with Cooper – so I completely relate with this story. I try so hard each day to have just a little one on one time with my boys, and the more attention I give them, the more they seem to love me too.
