Ladies and Gentlemen, he’s got talent!

Tonight was a talent show for all of the primary children at church.  Since Russell has an incredible talent for memorizing and remembering things, we thought he could memorize and recite something.  He is always surprising us with the things he can remember and quote.  So this past week we worked on memorizing a scripture he could recite for the talent show.  In the past he hasn’t really gotten very nervous, but lately he’s started getting a little scared when he is in front of big groups.  He did get nervous tonight, but was very brave and performed anyway.  He was so proud of himself, and we were proud of him, too!  If you can’t understand what he is saying, this is what he memorized:

“I saw a pillar of light exactly over my head, above the brightness of the sun, which descended gradually until it fell upon me.  It no sooner appeared than I found myself delivered from the enemy which held me bound.  When the light rested upon me, I saw two Personages whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air.  One of them spake unto me, calling me by name, and said, pointing to the other, This is my Beloved Son.  Hear him.”

That was the cutest thing ever! Tell Russell that my favorite part was when he almost couldn’t remember what came next, (ummmmm. . . ) but even under pressure pulled it off. That! is where the real talent is. Love you Leggs.

I also loved, absolutely loved, when he found his own way when interrupted…such a life skill! Please tell him for me that I AM SO PROUD OF HIM AND THAT I PRAY HE WILL NEVER FORGET THOSE WORDS HE MEMORIZED AND SPOKE SO BEAUTIFULLY AND THAT HE WILL LIVE BY THEM. Love, Grandmother
