The best visit ever…

We were so lucky to have Grandma, Grandpa, and Uncle Tim come to visit for five days.  It was FANTASTIC!  We were so happy that the boys warmed up to them immediately (it had been a while).  Mom and dad were so generous, and Tim didn’t fail to entertain us!  Here are some of my top moments from the trip:

  1. Mom getting me set on a laundry schedule.  She is so good at that!  It’s been five days since they left, and I’m still keeping at it!
  2. Tim being the tickle monster to the boys.
  3. Spending some one-on-one time with mom and dad separately through the trip.
  4. Lounging on the couch after the boys were in bed while we were on computers, watching Idol, watching the presidential debate, etc.  Whatever we did, it was so fun to relax together and spend time with mom, dad, and Tim.
  5. Being able to show them our house, where Russell goes to school, where we go to church, our neighborhood, our library, etc, etc, etc.  It was so fun to show them our life.
  6. Getting my hair cut and highlighted.  It was great to have mom’s guidance and fashion expertise along!
  7. Playing It Came To Pass, Clue, and Outburst on Sunday night with Tim.
  8. There were so MANY moments from the trip.  I’m so sad it’s over, but anxiously awaiting the next one, even though it isn’t even planned yet!

Here are some pictures to showcase the trip:

This doesn’t have to do with the trip, but I just wanted to show that he bit through his top lip (if you can see it in this pic).  He toppled over when he was sitting and bit through his lip, only to reopen it the next day when he fell down the stairs…

The boys building a tower (only to then enjoy knocking it down).

Mom and dad getting to relax.

Tim was so excited that we got to play It Came To Pass (a fun card game)!

More It Came To Pass!  We played that game way too late (as we always do)!

Tim, Russell, and Trey watching a movie on one of Dad’s cool gadgets.

I guess we play a lot of games…Here they are playing Hungry, Hungry Hippos (a favorite in our house).

Russell and Trey thought Grandma was so fun because she found lots of Elmo and Sesame Street games on her computer!  (Mom, don’t be mad that I posted this picture!  To be fair, mom had just rolled out of bed, or I guess rolled off the couch would be more accurate!)

My new hair.  Thank you, mom!  I am loving it and never thought I could like short hair (or shorter, I guess).

Jackie – I love your hair! It is really cute shorter like that. I love having family visit too. My mom lives in Alaska, so I don’t get to see her that often, and when she comes it is better than Christmas. I am glad you had such a great week together. 🙂

Your family is so adorable. I just want to squeeze your boys. It’s just a shame that Kelsey doesn’t really give Russell the attention he deserves 🙂

Your hair looks really cute, and it is fun to see you and your family lounging around. I hope you don’t mind that I stumbled upon your blog and I’m enjoying it.
