Race for a Cure

Today was the Susan G. Komen Race for a Cure in Columbus.  I decided to participate in the 5K run portion of the race.  The amount of people who participated was incredible!  Over 40,000 people were in either the 5K run, 5K walk or the 1 mile fun run.  With that many people, it was impressive how smoothly everything went.  I can’t imagine the amount of money they were able to raise for breast cancer with the registration fees, pledges, and donations!  Along the course people set up their bands to play music for the runners.  There was a steel drum band, a portion of the OSU marching band, a concert band, several rock bands, and even a chinese dragon along the way.  Several local radio stations also set up there vehicles along the way and blasted out their station’s music.  It was nice, since I didn’t have any music with me to listen to!  Russell and the boys came along to cheer me on as I crossed the finish line.  I didn’t finish with the time I wanted, but I guess I can’t complain since I didn’t run at all in preparation…  Maybe next year. 🙂

GOOOOOOOOO Jackie! I’ll never forget the image of you running while pushing, was it Trey or Keyan? in last years 5K in Provo on the 4th. I can’t wait to do that again, and congrats on finishing for not having and prep runs. Love you.
