All right already, here I am!

First of all, I just want to say:  I LOVE the olympics.  For the next 17 days, I will be glued to my TV, and it will take an awful lot to get me to do anything else!

Okay, I really do have a good excuse for not blogging.  In light of two of my sisters’ recent revelations, I would like to also let everyone know that we are going to be adding a new little one to our family somewhere around Feb. 12, 2009.  That makes me about 13 weeks right now.  Here’s the excuse part:  I have REALLY been feeling yucky for about six weeks now and blogging has been the last thing on my list.  It seems to get worse each time for me!  I really haven’t felt like doing anything but laying in my bed.  However, kids don’t feed, dress, or take care of themselves for the most part, so I have still been up doing stuff!!  Hopefully things will start to look up since the first trimester is coming to a close.

Our trip to California was really great, and it was fun to be a family.  We got some great time in with Papa and Granny (Russell’s grandparents), great aunts (great, great aunts for the kids), Russell’s dad, aunts, uncles, and cousins.  The boys loved having a pool to play in whenever they wanted, great snacks to eat, Nick Jr. and Playhouse Disney to watch, and ice cream to eat every day.  Spoiled!  Talk about spoiled, I was seriously spoiled by Russell.  He took on most of the parenting (while organizing Papa and Granny’s garage, laying cement, trimming trees, etc. to help out Papa and Granny) and let me relax and READ.  I got to read five books.  It was a dream!  We also got to visit San Francisco to see two of Russell’s great aunts.  We did have some really great pictures to share from the first half of the week.  Unfortunately, our camera was stolen out of the car while we were in church.  I wasn’t so worried about the camera, but I was really sad about not having the pictures anymore!   Oh well, it took me a while to get over that, but I think I’m okay now.

Quick story:  Russell’s dad gave Russell his plastic spine that he had used while he was in chiropractic school.  We didn’t have any extra suitcase space, so we had to put it in a bag and carry it on the plane.  We were going through security and the two men running the x-ray machine watched as it went through the machine.  They both looked very concerned as it went through.  They first called over another gentleman to help figure out what they should do (I think they thought they were real bones).  Then they called over their supervisor.  It was SO funny to watch their faces.  They really did look shocked at what they were looking at.  By this time we all had our shoes back on and bags back together and were waiting for the spine to be cleared.  The supervisor came over to Russell and said, “Sir, are these bones?”  Russell explained that they were made of plastic and were for schooling purposes.  She said, “well, that’s a first for everyone here!”  It was very funny!

Oh Jackie, we are so so so excited for you. And I feel your pain with the sick ucky feeling 1st trimester thing. There just isn’t anyone else around to step in and do what needs to be done for all the kiddies, and you just have to do it while feeling horrible the whole time. I hope that it goes away soon. And I’m sorry about the camera. I hate when bad things like that happen, although it seems like you’re taking it like a champ. I’d be pouty about it for a long time to come! I’m glad that you all got a vacation, and some much needed relaxation. Go Russell! That’s a good husband and dad for you right there. While you’re glued to your tv there in Ohio, picture us glued to our tvs here in Utah. We’ve been counting down the days, and are thrilled that it’s finally here. We love all of you Leggs.

Happy new baby to you! A 4th Legg- that’s so exciting! I’m sorry your feeling so sick though. Hopefully this time will pass quickly. That’s a funny story about the spine on the plan- I’ll for sure relate that to Eric. And kudos for Russell for giving you a little heaven on earth during the trip.

You little stinker. I can’t believe that you haven’t said anything before now and I can’t believe you didn’t tell me the other night when I talked to you. I would be very mad at you right now if I could. But I can’t, so CONGRATULATIONS!! Now I know why all of the ladies who came late Thursday night seemed to know something that I didn’t.

…as you kids got older, in those LONG sicky days, you all would sometime comment that you were “not my slaves!” My response, “On the contrary, I gave BIRTH TO SLAVES!!” Anyway, God bless you all for helping to get the rest of “you all” here!! Love, mom

Jackie, you really have a good husband, don’t you? I am so happy he takes such good care of you and the boys. As your parent, I never have any doubts about you and the boys’ welfare. It is very comforting. Sorry about the camera (it happens to everyone once in awhile) and we are so happy for you and new baby Legg!! We are planning a trip to visit you this spring; we just have to figure out when the best time is. Love,

    Dad

Jackie – I made that deal with my sister-in-law when she had three boys and got pregnant, but then she had a girl and so did I so there was no point in trading babies. Madison has praying that this is a boy baby “since we don’t have any boy babies in our family”, but I’m content with another girl because I certainly know how to do girls! I’m due on February 8th so we should find out the sex of our babies at about the same time!

Yay for a new baby. You’ll have to let me know if you are getting stuff from Abby or if you want me to send anything when you find out that you’re having a girl. 😉
I’m glad you couldn’t fit the bones into your suitcase. Now you have a very cool story. Love you.

Wow, congratulations! You really don’t look pregnant to me. I’m hoping for a little girl for you guys, but hey, you make great little boys too. Since Russell is our home teacher I can say he really is a pretty awesome guy. I’m glad that he has been helping you so much and letting you get in some reading too, you can’t beat that. I get really sick when I’m pregnant too, so I really can commiserate.
