Big Milestone

First may I say that I am a very happy girl.  While I work on my blog post, I am watching one football game on TV, listening to another one in one earphone, I already listened to one earlier, and will be watching two more tonight.  YAY!  I love football season. 🙂

Okay, now to the real reason for the post.  This week was a big milestone for little Russell and for Russell and I as parents.  Russell started kindergarten and rode the bus for the first time.  He, in true Russell fashion, had no fear or nerves and also showed almost no excitement.  I knew he was excited though, because I couldn’t not talk about it, so made him talk by asking questions.

These are pictures of the boys after their “back-to-school” blessings from dad.

Here are the boys eating the “power breakfast” I made for them on the morning of the first day of school.

The first sign of excitement came when he finally heard the bus coming from down the street.  And, yes, it is still dark outside, well partially dark anyway.  Russell’s bus picks him up at 7:20, which means I am getting up in the morning about two hours earlier than I have for the summer.  OUCH!  We’ll get used to it, and it is good for me, right?

He was so cute smiling and waving from his seat on the bus.

After school

Sorry!  I realize this was kind of a lot of pictures!

What a big adventure for you guys!! I’m so excited for Little Russell! That’s my main man right there. I remember with both Line and Malia I think it was more difficult for Abby and and I (okay me) that it was for the kids! They had been looking forward to this for so long! For some wierd coincidence my allergies were REALLY BAD for both girls on their first day of school 😉 But the excitement in their faces made everything better!

Now the fun stuff starts…you get to start helping them interpret all of “fun” things that they hear/ “learn” at school…that the fun stuff! Send him my love and please let him know how PROUD Uncle Naki is of him.

Russell is his own little self, isn’t he? I bet you were more nervous than he was. How fast time goes by….it hardly seems possible that he is in school already. Also, how did you get so hooked on football being raised with mostly girls? It doesn’t matter, I guess, because I am with you all the way.

Oh my goodness. THat makes me want to cry. I can’t believe he is attending kindergarten. I remember when I was his nursery leader. He’s grown up so much. You little boys are so cute. I just can’t believe how grown up they are.

I didn’t realize you were such a big football fan. I thought I was the only wife who loved football! The only problem is my husband doesn’t!
