Mosquito Bite?

Tell me, have you ever seen a mosquito bite do this??

I don’t really think these pictures do it justice.  Keyan woke up yesterday morning with what looked like a big spider bite on his upper cheek.  It stayed pretty much the same throughout the day.  This morning he woke up with his entire upper cheek and eye red and swollen and very uncomfortable looking.  The doctor at Urgent Care assured us that it was only a mosquito bite and Benadryl would do the trick. (P.S. These pictures are after a full day of Benadryl.)  Luckily it didn’t seem to bother him at all.  Kind of funny though… I took the other two boys to church while Russell took Keyan to Urgent Care where he was asked more than once by nurse, doctor, etc.:  “Now, are you the dad?”  I don’t blame them, really.  Russell and Keyan look about as opposite as you can get.  Also kind of funny, our friends’ little girl came to church with a matching eye today.  What are the odds they both would get this kind of reaction from a mosquito bite on the same day?   Keyan was a sport through it all.

Here’s our sweet boys.

    Hey, Jackie.

That’s how Benjamin reacts to mosquito bites, too. Not the other boys, but he gets truly horrible reactions to the bites. I keep one of those benadryl anti-itch sticks in my purse at all times, and carry the benadryl melt aways, too. Now…if only I remembered to carry the bug spray. Also, any time it’s near the eye, it swells up way worse than anywhere else.

    good times.

That is crazy! Pretty funny that they kept asking Russell if he is the dad. That made me laugh out loud when I read that part. Wouldn’t that be crazy if your little girl looks just like Russell while your boys look more like you?? I can’t wait to see!

I’m with Angie…I’m bettin’ on a little girl that looks like dad!! And…poor Keyan’s eye…owie!! If someone hadn’t said otherwise, I would definitely have thought “spider-bite!” Ick, in either case!! Love, mom/gma
