Birthdays

We had two birthdays in our family last week.  Trey on the 8th, and dad on the 10th.  They each got to be king and wore their crowns, and they got to choose their birthday dinner.  Dad deferred to Trey since we celebrated them together, and Trey chose chicken nuggets and french fries (with help from mom and dad.  When asked what he wanted he said milk and water).

The two kings

Dad wanted an ice cream cake, and Trey wanted a construction cake, so I combined the two into one cake.  It was my first ice cream cake, and kind of turned into a mess.  At least I know what to do for next year!

We didn’t do Trey’s party and cake on the exact day of his birthday, so we put candles in the pancakes daddy made for his special birthday breakfast.

He is very proud that he figured out how to put up three fingers.

You can never go wrong with more train track and trains in our family.  (or fain facks and fains, as Trey says it)

Jackie – once again you amaze me. You made an ice cream cake? How did you do that? I want to try it but never have figured out how. Your cookie dough truffles are still a big hit at my house! Tell you boys Hi and give hugs and kisses for us!

    Jackie,

I am so proud of you! Being a parent is hard sometimes, but when they turn out like you and your brothers and sisters, it makes it all worth it. Dad

Happy Birthday Russell & Trey! Getting closer to the big 3-0 for dad, I hope he’s holding up ok! He looks great, and your kids are so cute. I know you must be an amazing mom, we love and miss you guys. Hey did Russell know that Todd Sheldens dad passed away from cancer? They are having a celebration of life sometime in July. Are you guys coming to WA this summer?

If that cake was a “mess,” I, by comparison, haven’t made a successful cake in my life…you slay me! Please tell the boys that I LOVE “fains and fain facks” too…passionately. I don’t know how far back it goes, but I have always attributed the irresistable draw to my grandfather Wiest, the “fain” conductor! Love, mom
